Synthetic-Phonics Program.

‘Stairway to Reading’ is a comprehensive paper-based synthetic-phonics reading program designed to help students learn to read.  It is intended for grades K-2, but can be used for pre-schoolers with minor adaptions as noted.

If your child is in grade-3 or older and struggling with basic reading, then you should start with the remedial BLENDING program.

HOW WELL CAN YOUR CHILD READ?

The placement and diagnostic test will determine your child’s approximate reading level and identify areas of weakness. It will also show you where your child should begin in the Stairway To Reading program.

It is intended for emerging readers, typically in grades 1-3. For older struggling readers, visit the ‘Community Reading Project’ pages for advice and support.

TEACHING YOUR PRE-SCHOOLER

Stairway to Reading is designed for children who have already had some instruction, but can also be used with preschoolers with a slower pace, shorter and more playful sessions, and elimination of the “challenge” sections.
